About the Designer | Kelly Wong Designs

The Designer

Kelly grew up in Taunton Massachusetts for 18 years. After graduating from Taunton High School, she enrolled in the Interior Design program at New England Institute of Technology in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. NEIT opened educational opportunities by educating students through Architects and Designers that are familiar with the industry. This provided a hands-on curriculum approach which is based on practicality vs theory of design. During her college experience, Kelly was able to explore office, hospitality, educational, and residential design projects, as well as learning building codes and contract documents.

Kelly graduated from New England Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design. She was honored with the "Best of Tech Award" placing top of her class for the "best" Senior Thesis design project amongst her peers.

After graduating, Kelly started her career with Wegman Design Group in Naples, Florida. She gained a commercial interior design background by being thoroughly involved with multi-family, community clubhouses, assisted living facilities (AL, IL, MC), hospitality and corporate design projects. Kelly has widened her skill set by working with AutoCAD and dedicating time in projects to produce an accurate CD set, as well as specifications on lighting, finishes, furniture, accessories, and many more design elements.

In 2017 Kelly returned to Massachusetts where she worked at an architectural firm for 2 years prior to taking a new position at her current place of employment, Studio JBD, as a Senior Designer. In her spare time she has developed KWD in hopes of helping those in need of design expertise, while working within their price point.

She truly believes that it is best to be skilled in all designs for "knowledge is the key to success."

Hobbies Include: Outdoor activities ie. hiking, beach days, local farmers markets, spending time with family, laughing with her dog Blade

Interesting Facts: Previously worked as a Stewardess on a 200' motor yacht, has visited Walt Disney World over 20 times, enjoys all things apple flavored and scented.
